An Air Car Engine weights one-third that of a combustion engine Hybrid Diesel, Hydrogen, Vegetable Oil - you name it What will our flying cars look like?
Air Car Videos 2

Clearly, a daunting uphill climb is needed to oust a century of dependance on oil combustion engined vehicles.

The idea is great. Of course you can expect naysayers and opposition from corporate giants and their government allies. Billion dollar market corporations based on the 100 year old internal combustion engine won't take kindly to a paradigm shifting technology wholly owned by an outsider. We can expect stiff competition, if not outright aggression and subterfuge.

If it makes it into American markets by 2010 that'd be a miracle, but if it takes hold overseas where Ford and Chevrolet and BritPetrol and ShellCo aren't king, it might just survive.

We've received no word yet on the Tata Motors Taxis that should be working on the streets of India this summer... so we will have to rely on these new videos and wait for news ...

Popular Mechanics report on CNN News. Glenn Beck sounds idiotic - as the revelation of an Air Car begins to dawn on him.

And yet - the point made here - that an SUV accident with one of these cars may spell disaster, isn't idiotic at all.

The makers are going to have to address the weight differences between a traditional all-steel vehicle and an air car.

Solutions can be found through exceptional engineering and ultra-strong and ultralight materials.

Materials exist to do the job admirably, of course, but composites and carbon-fiber will come at a hefty price until mass production can curb their costs.

Excuse the annoying photo of GEM at the start of this video - and then this is a great video explaining the engine and car's many admirable qualities.

Boreanaz became a regular fixture on the program until series creator, Joss
Whedon deemed him worthy Office 2007 Enterprise of his very own vehicle.
It's been three years since Angel
